Communitea was developed as part of a logo design project in my Graphic Design class. In this project, we had the option to select from four distinct categories: wine, beer, salsa, or tea. After choosing a category, we were tasked with creating a fictional company, complete with owners, for which we would design a logo. The owners were required to have a compelling backstory detailing their motivation for establishing the company, and the enterprise needed to embody a persona that would guide its branding strategy. This process ensured that we could create a logo that accurately represented the company’s identity. Ultimately, we were expected to complete a comprehensive creative brief for the fictional company prior to commencing the logo design.
I established a tea company led by an man known as Uncle Grey. Uncle Grey founded Communitea to share his extensive tea experiences from around the globe and foster connections among people through his exceptional product. The company’s core mission revolves around cultivating community, which is reflected in its name, Communitea. The brand design incorporates symbolism of community, illustrated by the embracing tea leaves surrounding the company name.

The creative brief outlines the narrative of Uncle Grey, detailing the origins of his company, as well as his strategic vision for its future. Additionally, it includes a carefully curated list of descriptors that encapsulate the essence of the company, which served as the foundation for the final logo design.

In addition to establishing the company and defining its mission, we were required to develop product mock-ups. Below are the mock-ups I created to demonstrate how the logo would look in real life.
